Apartment Review for Coronado At Newport South - Newport Beach, CA

When I first moved here in California for work, I needed a place to stay. After visiting a half douzaine of communities, Coronado South seamed to be the best suited to my needs (price, location etc)... The resort style seamed very nice too... but it's only an appearance.

After a few months, I realized what mistake I made. The management team is the worst ever. They don't really care about you, they just want to take your money. The maintenance is not very good either. Somewhere around January 2006, they started some repairs in the jacuzzi so they sent a notice explaining that the access to it would be blocked for 5 weeks (ok, acceptable for me). We didn't get access back to it until june.. And they never distributed any other notices to inform us of the status!!! When I asked to one of the employee at the leasing office when the repairs would be completed... No one seamed to know... or even care at all. Who the hell know what's going on then if they don't?!?!

This place is definitely the worst place I've lived in. Very noisy at night. A lot of young people partying and yelling at night. The tennis court... well there is only 1 net that is really worth calling it a net. Oh yeah, and that one time, I even found a !@#$!$# diaper in the jacuzzi!!! F@#K!

I've heard this place used to be nice but when United Dominion took control of it, it obviously turned out to be the crapiest getho in newport beach.

I know the low deposit and the "reasonable" price can be attractive but you won't get your deposit back (or almost nothing of it)... Me and my girlfriend really took good care of the appartment. We did the cleaning/vaccumin every week and stuff. Also, just before leaving, we cleaned the whole appartment. When we were done with it, it was as clean as when we first came in.. besides 3 mini holes in the wall for paintings that we had (normal stuff)..

On a 400$ deposit : - ~30$ for Ledger account at move-out - ~65$ Final water bill - ~50$ Charges for cleaning needed (!@#$!@#) - ~90$ For painting (!@$!#) - ~75$ For cleaning carpet (!@#$!), I rented a freaking professionnal cleaning machine for this... Return : ~145$
