Apartment Review for Coronado At Newport South - Newport Beach, CA

my roomate and i moved in last august and have been counting the days until our lease is up. we thought it was a nice place, were promised new fixtures, new appliances, looked ok on the outside.

let's see...where do we begin. our first night there, one of the showers broke and we couldn't turn off the hot water. towel rack has fallen off numerous times, hanging bars in the closet have also broken, kitchen faucet and dishwasher-BROKE, closet doors fall off track and break. we had a problem with termites.

security sucks! they don't actually do anything useful except for stand outside our door and give us noise complaints for having our tv too loud...at 10:15 on a weekend. (so apparently i live on the old person ward or something because WE get in trouble for having people over past 10.)although, when a drunk driver totaled my parked car right outside my apt, no one could bother me then. our neighbors tell us they don't hear us yet we get mysterious noise complaints.

management can't be bothered to be friendly or helpful.

oh and we just got our letter offering to renew our lease. they're raising the rent by $100 and if you want the month to month option, they raise it by $500.

and ours is the least terrible story i've heard! i heard stories of people having their ENTIRE closed swarmed by termites and management saying "it's just the season." someone else i know lived there and had a strange smell in the bathroom and couldn't figure out what it was. until MAGGOTS fell through the bathroom fan one day. apparently a rat died on the roof and was completely infested and rotted. and when her and her sister tried to move out, they charged them for breaking the lease.

despite how they sell it on the tour or all the nice things they promise you it's a dump.
