Apartment Review for Coronado At Newport North - Newport Beach, CA

I'll start with the office staff: Lisa is the manager and, by far, the rudest. The others act like anytime you call or go in, you are inconveniencing them. There was one nice office employee, but the manager told me she fired that person. Very unprofessional. When we signed our lease it was one price plus an estimate of our 'water' bill. Within the the first 6 months, our rent had increased over $200 and our 'water' bill was 4 times the amount they told us to expect. When asked to handle the water bill, I got a lot of attitude and indirect responses. Finally she said a separate company billed us for the water and gas and there was nothing she could do. She also told me that if the tenants would learn to conserve water, everyone's bills would be lower. Again, very unprofessional. Don't even bother trying to get the corporate office involved because they won't return phone calls or letters. Fleas: My dog is going nuts with fleas that he has never had before. They are everywhere. We've asked them to spray for fleas, but I don't think they actually do it. Every month something seems to break around here. It usually takes about a week to get anything fixed. I can't decide if it's more trouble to deal with the office staff for a maintenance request, or living with whatever is broken at the time. The toilets seem to clog a lot. Even when I'm cleaning them they stop up. Smells of sewage. So don't live here if you plan to open windows. No fresh air here! Laundry units are always broken. In fact, one of the dryers has been broken the entire time I've lived here. Limited cabinet space. The cabinets are very tall, but very slim. My regular plates barely fit. If you're not 6 foot, you can't even reach the top shelves. We've had stuff stolen off our patio as well. We're smart enough not to leave anything of value out there. With that said, things are STILL getting stolen. Screamers: Our token screamer moved out about a month ago. We got lucky! Office would never do anything about it when we called. We have a friend who's been given mulitple violation notices for her tv being "too loud" though. To sum it up: This apartment complex is a joke! We can't wait to move out!
